A sessions court in Karachi issued a bailable arrest warrant against legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram on Tuesday.
The arrest warrant was issued due to the fact that Akram has missed 31 hearings of a case he filed against a retired major following a road rage incident in August last year.
Akram was involved in an accident with Major (retd) Aminur Rehman and his associates after conducting a fast bowlers camp at the National Stadium. After the crash, the major withdrew a revolver and fired a shot at Akram’s Mercedes.
According to sources, however, no one attended the hearings of the case since the matter was amicably settled over the course of a few days.
But, the sessions court has set the date of the hearing to be held on January 17 and has instructed police to ensure Akram is present.
