Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been handed a one-match suspension after committing his second over-rate offence within a 12-month period.
Pakistan were found to be two overs short of the 103 overs they were required to bowl after time allowances had been taken into consideration during the first Test against New Zealand in Christchurch.
Misbah would have missed the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton, but he has already been ruled out of the match as he has returned home following the death of his father-in-law.
In addition to the suspension, Misbah was also docked 40 per cent of his match fee, while the rest of his team were fined 20 per cent.
The last time Misbah was found guilty of a over-rate offence came against England in August.
Pakistan are currently 1-0 down in the two-Test series as New Zealand won the first Test by eight wickets.
