Joe Burns and Lendl Simmons both made half-centuries as the Brisbane Heat downed the Sydney Sixers by six runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
With the Heat already having no chance of winning the Big Bash League (BBL) this year, Burns and Simmons handed their side a consolation win, while the Sixers now only have a slim chance of contending for the title.
Heat skipper Chris Lynn would have been brooding over his decision to bat first as he and Jimmy Peirson were dismissed early on.
However, Simmons and Burns took over after both of them were dismissed as the former scored 54 off 30 balls, which included nine boundaries and a six, while the latter went on to make 60 off 51 deliveries, which included three boundaries and three sixes.

Thanks to Burns and Simmons, the Heat finished on 162/8 off their 20 overs.
Sean Abbott was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Doug Bollinger, Jackson Bird, Johan Botha and Ben Dwarshuis snapped up one wicket apiece.
Chasing 163 to win, Michael Lumb and captain Brad Haddin were the only two batsmen to have an impact for the Sixers as Lumb scored a team-high 47 runs, while Haddin made 42.
With none of the other batsmen able to surpass the 20-run mark, the Sixers fell just short of their target.
Ben Cutting and Mitchell Swepson took two wickets apiece, while James Hopes, Josh Lalor and Jason Floros claimed one wicket each.
Burns was named Man of the Match.
