South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn, who became the 13th bowler to take 400 Test wickets, and all-rounder Jean Paul (JP) Duminy claimed three wickets apiece to give the Protea a slight edge over Bangladesh on the first day of the second Test in Dhaka.
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim would have been brooding over his decision to bat first as he was the only batsman to make a valuable contribution.
Many of the other batsmen – Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan – got off to promising starts but were unable to take the next step and convert it into bigger scores.
Rahim on the other hand managed to make 65 off 125 balls, which included seven boundaries, before he was caught behind off the bowling of Dean Elgar.

Bangladesh were spared from being bowled out as they had two wickets in hand when stumps was called.
Steyn and Duminy inflicted the most damage with three wickets each, while Elgar and Morne Morkel snapped up one wicket apiece.
