Barbados Tridents pace bowler Jason Holder smashed an entertaining 30 and captain Kieron Pollard claimed four wickets to help their side beat the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 14 runs.

However, Amazon Warriors seamer David Wiese deserves a lot of credit for his five-wicket haul.

Since all of the batsmen, except for Holder, were unable to get out of the starting blocks, the Tridents were restricted to 125/9 off their 20 overs.

Holder ended up making 30 off 17 balls, which included two boundaries and two sixes, before he was dismissed.

Wiese was easily the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Devendra Bishoo snapped up two and Veerasammy Permaul and Marchant de Lange chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Wiese finished with figures of 5-30 off his four overs

Chasing 126 to win, the Amazon Warriors fell short of their target despite a number of batsmen getting off to promising starts.

Opener Brad Hodge ended up being the team’s top-scorer with 27, while Chris Barnwell made 24.

Pollard inflicted the most damage with four wickets, while Imran Khan and Rayad Emrit claimed one wicket each.

Rather surprisingly, Emrit edged out Holder and Pollard for the Man of the Match award.
