Ravi Shastri has been named as India’s interim head coach ahead of their upcoming tour of Bangladesh.

Shastri took over the reins from Duncan Fletcher on a temporary basis when he was named director of cricket during the national team’s dismal tour of England in July last year.

However, it has not been confirmed whether Shastri will continue coaching India once their tour of Bangladesh concludes.

But, it is likely that India’s full-time coach and support staff, which currently consists of Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, will be appointed prior to their tour of Zimbabwe in July.

India tour of Bangladesh will consist of a one-off Test in Fatullah, which will begin on June 10, and three ODIs in Mirpur, which are scheduled to be held on June 18, 21 and 24.
