Just when it seemed as if West Indies batsman Darren Bravo’s day could not get any worse, it did after he was reprimanded for using inappropriate language during his side’s 150-run win over Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) stated that Bravo had breached Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International match”.

Since Bravo accepted the charge, there will be no need for a formal hearing.

Bravo’s bad day started when he was hit on the side of the helmet by a throw from Younis Khan when running for a quick single.

However, it took a turn for the worse when he was forced to retire hurt on 49 with a hamstring injury. After going for an MRI scan, it was revealed that Bravo had a low-grade hamstring tear and as a result, he is likely to miss the West Indies’ next two World Cup matches.
