According to a source, Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik is reluctant to play international cricket since he is worried about being reported for a suspect action.

The source also noted that Malik does not his action to be closely scrutinised since it may jeopardise his chances of playing in domestic Twenty20 tournaments.

“Malik is working on his bowling action and bowling more these days but he is concerned as he has some lucrative contracts to play in foreign T20 leagues in the coming months and doesn’t want to jeopardize them at this stage,” the source told PTI.

Another source noted that Malik could represent Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup after all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and spinner Saeed Ajmal were both banned from bowling since their actions were found to be illegal.

“There is a debate going on that Malik could be considered for World Cup selection as an all-rounder if both Saeed and Hafeez are not able to get their bowling actions cleared in time by the ICC,” the source said.
