Following the tragic death of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, West Indies Test captain Denesh Ramdin believes that the helmets players use need to be improved.

Hughes passed away at the age of 25 when he was struck on the side of the neck by a bouncer from New South Wales pace bowler Sean Abbott.

“The helmets we have need to be improved because when you get a lash on it, you really feel the pain,” Ramdin said. “It is basically just a piece of fibreglass and this is not adequate protection.”
