According to the local papers, all the national players will receive new contracts

According to numerous newspapers in the Caribbean, the pay dispute between the national team and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has been resolved following a meeting over the weekend.

Tensions between both parties reached its highest level when the national team recently pulled out midway through their tour of India.

However, according to reports, the WICB and the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) will renegotiate new contracts for all the players. It has also been announced that the players will be contacted throughout the negotiations so that this type of situation can be avoided in the future.

In addition to all this, a three-man task force has been created to think of a way to pay the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) US$41.97 million in damages.

According to sources, the three-man task force will comprise of ex-West Indies pace bowler and Barbados politician Wes Hall, Barbados chief justice and former prime minister David Simmons and Trinidad and Tobago politician Kenneth Lalla, who is also a lawyer.

The meeting was attended by WICB president Dave Cameron, West Indies ODI captain Dwayne Bravo, West Indies Test skipper Denesh Ramdin and their legal representative Ralph Thorne. In addition to that, St Vincent and the Grenadines prime minister Ralph Gonsalves and Grenada prime minister Keith Mitchell were also in attendance.
