Zimbabwe pace bowler Tinashe Panyangara recorded his maiden five-wicket haul to keep his side evenly poised with Bangladesh at the end of the second day of the first Test in Mirpur.
However, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah and Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim all deserve credit for scoring half-centuries.
Starting out the day on 27/1, Haque and Shamsur Rahman only added two runs to their 17-run partnership before Rahman was caught by Elton Chigumbura at mid-off off the bowling of Tinashe Panyangara for eight runs.
Haque and Mahmudullah stabilised the innings with a 63-run partnership, during which Haque brought up his half-century, before he was run out by Sikandar Raza for 53 off 112 balls, which included five boundaries.

Shakib Al Hasan only made five runs before he was run out by Tendai Chatara.
Mahmudullah and Rahim steadied the innings with a 64-run partnership, during which Mahmudullah registered his half-century, before he was given out lbw off the bowling of Raza.
Mahmudullah was given not out initially, but Zimbabwe decided to review the decision. Since replays showed that the ball was pitching in line and going on to hit leg stump, the third umpire ended up overturning the original decision.
Mahmudullah’s brilliant knock of 63 came off 160 balls and included seven boundaries and two sixes.

Shuvagata Hom scored 14 runs before he was caught by Chigumbura at mid-on off the bowling of Tafadzwa Kamungozi.
Rahim went on to score 64 off 126 deliveries, which included nine boundaries and a six, before he was caught by Craig Ervine at square leg off the bowling of Panyangara.

Shahadat Hossain failed to trouble the scorers as he was run out by Ervine for a duck.
Taijul Islam mustered 19 runs before he was clean bowled by Panyangara.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 254, giving them a 14-run lead, when Al-Amin Hossain was cleaned up for nine runs to give Panyangara his maiden five-wicket haul.
Panyangara was easily the pick of the bowlers with his five wickets, while Kamungozi and Raza chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Trailing by 14 runs, Zimbabwe got off to a cautious start as Vusi Sibanda and Regis Chakabva put together an unbeaten five-run partnership before stumps was called.
Sibanda finished on five off 12 balls, which included one boundary, while Chakabva has yet to face his first ball.
Zimbabwe ended day two on 5/0 and will continue batting tomorrow at 09:30 local time or 03:30 GMT.
