West Indies chief selector Clive Lloyd has apologised after the national team pulled out of their tour of India following the fourth ODI in Dharamsala.

The national team, led by captain Dwayne Bravo, decided to cut their tour of India short due to the ongoing pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA).

“I would like to apologise for the West Indies team aborting the India tour,” Lloyd said. “It is a mistake on the part of players to have the left the tour in between.

“We have great affection and love for Indian people and I hope that this will not affect our future relations. I hope the damage is not irreparable.”
