Lakmal is likely to be out of action for the next three weeks

Sri Lanka pace bowler Suranga Lakmal has been ruled out of the Test series against Pakistan due to an ankle injury.

Lakmal’s ankle had swollen up following the second Test against South Africa in Colombo. There were fears that he may have sustained a stress fracture initially, but it was later revealed that he had edema.

Lakmal is also unlikely to be available for the three-match ODI series since his injury is expected to take three weeks to heal.
