South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers may miss the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle as he is currently struggling to recover from a tight right hamstring.

However, Cricket South Africa announced that he is “likely to be available for selection for Wednesday’s match and will “continue to receive treatment”. But, de Villiers may not keep if he does play.

If de Villiers is ruled out for the first Test, it means that Quinton de Kock is likely to make his second Test appearance and don the keeping gloves as well.
