Pakistan have included all-rounder Shoaib Malik and wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal in their 15-man squad for the World Twenty20, which will take place in Bangladesh next month.

Malik has not represented Pakistan in any format since November 2013, while Akmal’s last appearance for the national team came during the Champions Trophy in June last year.

Batsman Fawad Alam, who has not been considered for selection since 2010, has also been drafted into the squad.

“Malik, Kamran and Fawad have been rewarded for their good form in domestic cricket,” acting chief selector Azhar Khan said.

However, it was also announced that left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Irfan will miss the tournament as he is still recovering from a hip injury he sustained back in November.
