Broad will be rested for the first two ODIs

England pace bowler Stuart Broad will miss the first two ODIs against Australia in an attempt to control his workload and ensure he does not sustain a serious injury.

Broad was England’s highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Ashes series with 21 wickets at a respectable average of 27.52.

Fellow England seamer James Anderson will miss the entire series as he has returned home to rest after a gruelling Ashes series, which saw England whitewashed 5-0.

This means that Steven Finn, who failed to play a single game during the Ashes, is highly likely to lead the pace attack, along with Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes.
