Sharma spent a couple of hours working on his line and length

Just two days after being smashed for 30 runs, which included four sixes, off one over by Australia all-rounder James Faulkner, India pace bowler Ishant Sharma worked on tightening his line and length with bowling coach Joe Dawes for a couple of hours in an optional practice in Ranchi.

Sharma worked on his bowling throughout the afternoon, while his team-mates opted to take a day off prior to the fourth ODI.

Thanks to Faulkner’s blitz in the third ODI in Mohali, Australia hold on to a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth ODI of the seven-match series.

However, there is a chance the fourth ODI may be washed out after heavy rain lashed Ranchi last night.

The pitch at the JSCA Stadium remains covered in anticipation for more rain.

If the match goes ahead, it will only be the second ODI to be played in Ranchi.

The JSCA Stadium hosted its inaugural match on January 19, in which India hammered England by seven wickets.
