Bollinger will miss New South Wales’ Ryobi Cup match against Victoria

Cricket Australia has suspended New South Wales pace bowler Doug Bollinger for one match after his wild throw to hit the stumps accidentally ended up striking the Queensland batsman.

Match referee Bob Stratford noted that Bollinger violated Article 2.2.7 of Cricket Australia’s Code of Behaviour, which relates to “throwing a ball at or near a player or player support personnel in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during a match”.

Bollinger pleaded guilty to the charge, which means that there will be no need for a hearing to take place.

The Australian seamer will miss New South Wales’ Ryobi Cup clash against Victoria on October 20.
