Khan lost six kilograms while training in France

Fresh off a six-week training course in France, India left-arm pace bowler Zaheer Khan is now heading to Cape Town, South Africa, where he will train with former India coach Gary Kirsten for three weeks in a bid to regain his spot in the national team.

Khan, who last represented India in a Test match against England in Kolkata last December, lost his place in the national team after sustaining a side strain and has been struggling to get back to his best ever since.

However, according to reports, Khan lost six kilograms while training in the south of France with team-mate Yuvraj Singh.

“Zaheer will be travelling to Cape Town to work with Kirsten for three weeks,” Khan’s mentor, Sudhir Naik, said. “He still has to get his visa. Once that happens he will be off. There he will primarily work on his fielding and bowling.”
