A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: James Pattinson unconcerned about injury setback

Pattinson is confident he will come back with a vengeance

Australia pace bowler James Pattinson is unconcerned about being ruled out of action for the entire Test summer after sustaining a side injury and stated that injuries are a part of every player’s career.

Pattinson sustained his injury during the second Test against South Africa at Adelaide and many cricket pundits believe the 53 overs he bowled during the first Test at Brisbane was responsible for it.

Pattinson has succumbed to injuries numerous times throughout the year, the first coming against India in January when he suffered a stress fracture in his foot, the second was a back strain during the second Test against the West Indies at  Port of Spain and finally an abdominal tear in the ODI series against arch-rivals England.

Talking about his side injury, Pattinson was quoted by News.com.au as saying: “I was having trouble breathing, it felt like someone was stabbing me in the side so as soon as I felt that it was straight off.”

However, the young seamer is confident that he will be able to bounce back and added that his body was still getting used to the challenges of international cricket.

“One thing I have on my side is age, I am just 22 so I am happy with the way I am going after seven Tests,” Pattinson said. “All the physios who are looking after me and doing a great job say it is not until I am about 26 that my body will mature. I will have a few setbacks so it is about how I go about recovering from them.”
