A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Getting Sachin Tendulkar out in Mumbai felt absolutely amazing, admits Monty Panesar

Panesar will never forget this moment

England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar has admitted that he experienced one of the greatest moments of his international career when dismissing iconic Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar in both innings of the second Test in the ‘Little Master’s’ hometown of Mumbai.

Panesar clean bowled Tendulkar for eight in the first innings before trapping him lbw in the second innings for the exact same score.

“Sachin’s the Prince of India… I was delighted at taking that wicket,” Panesar said.

The left-arm spinner noted that it felt extremely demoralising to be sidelined during the first Test at Ahmedabad, where England were humiliated by India.

“Yeah, there was disappointment… But I’m happy to be playing,” Panesar added. “I had the experience of bowling with the new ball in Dubai against Pakistan.”

“I was prepared for that and it’s something that I enjoy. It’s a new thing for me but I do enjoy bowling with the new ball.”

Panesar also credited England spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed for helping the team adjust to the conditions in India in such a short period of time.

“Mushy bhai has been very valuable for us… He has played a lot of cricket in the subcontinent and he understands the rhythm of the game out here,” Panesar said.
