A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: Nathan Lyon being buried under ton of information, says Johan Botha

Botha believes it is key for Lyon to maintain his composure

South Africa spinner Johan Botha believes Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon is being buried under the constant flow of information about his bowling technique, and added that he must keep his cool ahead of the first Test against the Proteas in Brisbane on November 9.

Lyon has only taken six wickets in three Sheffield Shield games this season, but Botha believes he should not be too worried about it.

Even though Botha expects most of the South African batsmen to look to attack Lyon, he still feels that the Australian off-spinner will find his form once again in the series.

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Botha as saying: “There is a lot being spoken about him. He is thinking about a lot of things. Hopefully he can just clear it up and have his mind settled before the first Test, as a spinner, you obviously have just got a bit of spin – there are no bouncers, there are no yorkers – so you just want to do that over and over, and if you start thinking too much you probably don’t land them where you want to all the time.”
