Former Pakistan fast bowler Abdur Rauf has hit out at fellow pacer Haris Rauf, accusing him of being unwilling to accept criticism when he fails to deliver against stronger opposition.

Abdur claimed that Haris has mostly performed well against associate and lower-ranked teams, but has struggled to replicate that success when facing top-tier international sides.

The veteran seamer stressed that such inconsistencies can’t be ignored, especially for a bowler who has been a key part of Pakistan’s white-ball setup for several years.

Despite being regarded as one of Pakistan’s premier T20I bowlers, Haris has recently found himself out of favour in T20Is as he has lost his place in the side.

“Haris Rauf has performed well against associate teams and lower-ranked teams yet he doesn’t want us to criticise him when he flops against the stronger teams,” Abdur was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Rauf was not picked for the ongoing 2026 T20 World Cup, where the men in green have advanced to the Super Eights after winning three games in the group stage – against Netherlands, United States of America and Namibia. Their only loss came against India

Pakistan will kickstart their Super Eights campaign against New Zealand on February 21 in Colombo.
