Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha believes “no one has performed better” than spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz since he made his return to the national team.

Nawaz has become a key member of Pakistan’s T20I and ODI squads, regularly chipping in with crucial wickets and valuable lower order runs.

Salman admitted that the 31-year-old has been nothing short of “outstanding” and hopes to see him sustain this rich vein of form going forward.

“Since his comeback, he has been outstanding – frankly, no one has performed better than him,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Nawaz recently took part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Australia and claimed seven wickets, which included career-best figures of 5-18, at an average of 7.71 and an economy rate of 5.40.

He also scored 29 runs at an average of 29 and a strike-rate of 138.09.

Currently, he is featuring in the 2026 T20 World Cup and has snapped up three wickets in three games at an average of 29 and an economy rate of 7.90.

Batting-wise, the Rawalpindi native has mustered 15 runs at an average of five and a strike-rate of 53.57.

Pakistan have won two games – against the Netherlands and the United States of America – but suffered a defeat in their third match against India.

They will be back in action on February 18 when they face Namibia in Colombo.
