Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has lavished praise on fellow speedster Haris Rauf, describing him as the team’s “main bowler” in white-ball cricket as he “is always a wicket-taker.”
Rauf has established himself as a key figure in Pakistan’s ODI and T20I line-ups, renowned for his pace and ability to strike at crucial moments.
His most recent assignment for the men in green came during their ODI series against Sri Lanka, where he took nine wickets in three matches at an average of 18.33.
“Haris is always a wicket-taker for Pakistan. He was our top performer in white-ball cricket. Haris is our main bowler,” Afridi was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Rauf just finished playing for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL), where he remains the highest wicket-taker with 20 victims in 11 matches at an average of 16.75 and an economy rate of 8.23.
Since he took part in BBL 15, Rauf did not take part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Dambulla.
Interestingly, he has been left out of Pakistan’s side for the three T20Is against Australia, which will be held in Lahore from January 29 to February 1.
