Pakistan powerhouse Azam Khan has claimed that some former players “are unable to stomach” the level of success Babar Azam has achieved in his career so far.
Babar has shattered numerous records over the years and continues to cement his place among Pakistan’s greatest-ever batsmen.
However, while many celebrate Babar’s achievements, certain critics remain unwilling to acknowledge his remarkable journey and consistency.
“Some ex-players are unable to stomach Babar Azam’s success,” Azam was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Babar has put up a number of strong performances over the last few months, with his best knock coming in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, where he made 102 not out, which was his first international hundred in over two years.
Currently, the 31-year-old is in action for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL), where he has scored 202 runs in 11 matches, which includes two fifties, at an average of 22.44 and a strike-rate of 103.06.
Since he is playing in the BBL, he missed Pakistan’s recent tour of Sri Lanka, which saw the T20I series end as a 1-1 draw.
The men in green have another assignment coming up as they are scheduled to face Australia in a three-match T20I series in Lahore from January 29 to February 1.
