Jamal has not played Test cricket since January 2025 and Masood acknowledged that a player of his quality would be a real asset for the men in green.

“Aamer Jamal could have brought a clear difference in the team,” Masood was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.

Jamal has been active in domestic cricket as of late as he took part in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeA) Trophy, which is Pakistan’s first-class competition.

In seven matches for Lahore Region Whites, he picked up 22 wickets at an average of 24.90.
