Usama Mir: “If you want a different brand of cricket, then the whole team should play that way. Apart from Hasan Nawaz, no batter even strikes above 130, not even Fakhar”

Pakistan spinner Usama Mir pointed out big-hitter Hasan Nawaz is the only batsman with a strike-rate above 130 in the T20I team right now.
Nawaz is one of the top power-hitters in the country right now and has shown on a number of occasions what kind of damage he can inflict.
Mir, though, was slightly surprised that top order batsman Fakhar Zaman isn’t even striking at 130 as it is something he would have expected from the veteran player, who is known for having plenty of big shots in his arsenal.
“If you want a different brand of cricket, then the whole team should play that way. Apart from Hasan Nawaz, no batter even strikes above 130, not even Fakhar,” he told PakPassion.
Nawaz hasn’t been in the best of form lately as he featured in the 2025 Asia Cup, but only managed to make 17 runs in three games at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
He then took part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against South Africa, but failed to impress again as he mustered eight runs at an average of four and a strike-rate of 66.66.
The 23-year-old from Islamabad got the opportunity to participate in the three-match ODI series as well and scored one run in the one game he played.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be three ODIs against Sri Lanka from November 11 to 15.
After that, the men in green will be involved in a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe between November 17 and 29.
