Make him a selector, Mohammad Amir thinks Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman is a good choice for the role

Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir believes ex-captain Sarfaraz Ahmed should be appointed as a selector.

Amir even sees Sarfaraz as a good choice for the chief selector role, but ultimately just wants the wicketkeeper-batsman to be involved in selecting the national team since he knows a lot of the players and has played alongside many of them as well.

Beyond his cricketing expertise, Amir believes the 38-year-old is “an honest and sincere person,” making him precisely the type of person Pakistan cricket requires.

“Even if he is not appointed chief selector, if he comes in as a selector, it will be a good decision. Sarfaraz Ahmed has played with the current players, which could be an advantage,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

“Sarfaraz Ahmed is an honest and sincere person; Pakistan cricket can benefit from people like him. Cricketers should also be capable of managing affairs and should be good players. Many cricketers came before, but they left the team in turmoil.”

Pakistan just finished taking on South Africa on home soil and enjoyed a lot of success as they drew the Test series 1-1 and won both the T20I and ODI series 2-1.

Pakistan will now play a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from November 11 to 15, before participating in a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
