Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha doesn’t see the need to have a strike-rate of 150 when batting in the shortest format.
Instead, he believes it is more important to play according to the situation of the match.
His comments come at a time when strike-rates have been a hotly debated topic for the men in green, especially with many people criticising the batsmen in the squad for not scoring quickly enough.
“It’s not necessary to bat at [a] 150 strike-rate but to play as per the demand of the situation,” Salman was quoted as saying by NDTV.
During the 2025 Asia Cup, Salman scored 72 runs in seven games at an average of 12 and a strike-rate of 80.89.
He performed a lot better in the two-Test series against South Africa, amassing 170 runs, which included a top score of 93, at an average of 42.50.
In the three T20Is that followed, he finished with 35 runs at an average of 17.50 and a strike-rate of 106.06.
Pakistan and South Africa are now playing a three-match ODI series.
In the 1st ODI, Salman made 62 runs off 71 balls, which included five boundaries and a six.
Once the ODIs are done, Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, before joining a T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
