Former India seamer Ishant Sharma has praised Pakistanis, describing them as “very good people.”

He also commended their hospitality, saying the people of Pakistan always treat guests “so well.”

His comments come at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, which was evident during the 2025 Asia Cup as both sides didn’t shake hands when they clashed.

“Pakistanis are actually very good people. I traveled to Pakistan and they are very hospitable. They treat you so well and they are not bad at all,” Ishant was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan are now involved in a home series against South Africa, which started with two Tests that ended as a 1-1 draw.

Both sides then faced each other in a three-match T20I series, which the men in green won 2-1.

Next up will be three ODIs, which will take place between November 4 and 8.

After that, Pakistan will play Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, and then compete in a T20I tri-series alongside Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
