Pakistan batsman Mohammad Haris confirmed he has been working on playing spin bowling, recognising the need to improve in that department.
He has also been focusing on staying calm at the crease so that he doesn’t make rash decisions that end up costing him his wicket.
The 24-year-old recently played in Pakistan’s T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, where he scored 33 runs at an average of 6.60 and a strike-rate of 84.61.
After that, he took part in the 2025 Asia Cup and accumulated 131 runs in seven games, which included a top score of 66, at an average of 21.83 and a strike-rate of 133.67.
“I’ve been working hard with the batting coach, working on my calmness, and how to tackle spin. The seniors have been helping, giving advice. I wanted to use all that and deliver for the team,” Haris was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Pakistan reached the final of the Asia Cup, but fell short in their bid to win the tournament as India beat them by five wickets.
The men in green are now facing South Africa and began by drawing the Test series 1-1.
Next up will be a three-match T20I series between October 28 and November 1, which will be followed by three ODIs from November 4 to 8.
After the South Africa series, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series from November 11 to 15, and then join Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in a T20I tri-series from November 17 to 29.
