Pakistan big-hitter Hasan Nawaz said he has learnt a lot from the outstanding batting trio of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha.

Nawaz has been brilliant for the men in green as he has produced superb performances in both T20Is and ODIs.

The 23-year-old featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and accumulated 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.

He then took part in Pakistan’s T20I tour of Bangladesh and finished with 33 runs at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.

After this, the men in green toured the West Indies and Nawaz began his campaign with 79 runs in three T20Is at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.

He then made his ODI debut had amassed 112 runs in three matches, which included a career-best knock of 63 not out, at an average of 112.

Following the West Indies tour, the Islamabad native was involved in Pakistan’s T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, where he scored 93 runs in five games, which included a top score of 56, at an average of 18.60 and a strike-rate of 143.07.

Having enjoyed a great start to his international career, Nawaz thanked Azam, Rizwan and Salman for all their guidance and support.

“I learn a lot from Babar Azam, Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha,” he said in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as quoted by A Sports.

Pakistan are now participating in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.

So far, Nawaz has accumulated 17 runs in three matches at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.

The men in green began their Asia Cup campaign with a 93-run win over Oman before losing to India by seven wickets.

They still managed to make it through to the Super Four after beating the UAE by 41 runs.

Pakistan’s next match will be against India on September 21 in Dubai.
