Peshawar Zalmi bowling coach Glen Chapple has been really impressed with the way Pakistan fast bowler Ali Raza is able to generate “power and pace with ease”.

Raza has become the new big thing in Pakistan cricket as he is only 17 years old, but can already bowl at speeds of 146 kph.

In the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), the pace sensation took 12 wickets in nine matches for the Zalmi at an average of 25.25 and an economy rate of 9.18.

With Raza having enjoyed a lot of success in PSL 10, Chapple called him a “really exciting prospect” who is “already at a very high level”.

“Ali Raza generates power and pace with ease. He releases from a high position. He’s a really exciting prospect, he’s already at a very high level,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After the PSL, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they won 3-0.

They then toured Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but couldn’t replicate their success as they were beaten 2-1.

Pakistan are currently touring the West Indies and began on a high as they claimed a 2-1 win in the T20I series.

The three-match ODI series is now underway, with the men in green holding a 1-0 lead after securing a five-wicket victory in the 1st ODI.

The 2nd ODI will be played on August 10 in Trinidad.
