Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik believes the string of big scores Hasan Nawaz has racked up lately “is only the start of bigger things to come” for him.
Hasan made his international debut in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and after getting out for a duck in his first two games, the 22-year-old put on an awe-inspiring show in the 3rd T20I as he hammered a sensational 105 not out off 45 balls, which included 10 boundaries and seven sixes.
Overall, he finished the series with 106 runs in five games at an average of 26.50 and a strike-rate of 185.96.
Following the New Zealand tour, Hasan continued to impress in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.
Having seen great potential in the Islamabad native, Malik encouraged him to keep batting well and winning games for Pakistan.
“This is only the start of bigger things to come for you. Keep pushing,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Hasan is now representing Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and has accumulated 95 runs in two games, which includes a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 95 and a strike-rate of 197.91.
The men in green hold a 2-0 series lead going into the 3rd T20I on June 1 in Lahore.
