Former Pakistan chief selector Mohsin Khan believes India superstar Virat Kohli “is nothing compared to Babar Azam”.
Kohli and Azam have long been compared to each other as they are considered to be the backbone of India and Pakistan’s batting line-up respectively.
While many former players firmly believe that Kohli is in a whole different league, Mohsin has a different view as he feels the Indian run-scoring machine “is zero” when put next to Azam.
“Virat Kohli is nothing compared to Babar Azam; he is zero,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently took part in the 2025 Champions Trophy and scored 87 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.
He then proceeded to make 129 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
Currently, the 30-year-old is captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has amassed 288 runs in 10 matches, which includes three half-centuries, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
PSL 10 was recently postponed due to ongoing border tensions between India and Pakistan, but resumed on May 17 and is set to finish on May 25.
