India batsman Shreyas Iyer has praised Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, saying he “bowled brilliantly” during their 2025 Champions Trophy match.
Abrar recorded figures of 1-28 off his 10 overs and clean bowled India opener Shubman Gill with a sensational delivery.
Even though Pakistan lost the match by six wickets, Iyer acknowledged that he was impressed with the way Abrar bowled.
“I think Abrar bowled brilliantly,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Abrar ended his Champions Trophy campaign with two wickets in two games at an average of 37.50.
Following this, he was involved in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and claimed five wickets in three matches at an average of 19.80.
Pakistan and New Zealand are now facing each other in a three-match ODI series, which the Black Caps lead 2-0.
