Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has slammed batsman Babar Azam for having zero match-winning performances against India.

His comments come after the men in green’s dismal campaign in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where they were eliminated in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.

In the match against India, Azam scored 23 runs before being caught behind off the bowling of Hardik Pandya.

“Babar Azam has been playing for Pakistan for the past 10 years, yet he hasn’t been able to help Pakistan secure a single victory against India,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Azam finished the Champions Trophy with 87 runs in two games, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.

Following their losses to New Zealand and India, Pakistan’s final match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.

Pakistan are now taking on New Zealand in a white-ball series and were thumped 4-1 in the T20Is.

Next up will be the three-match ODI series, which gets underway on March 29 in Napier.
