Former England fast bowler Steven Finn believes Pakistan batsman Babar Azam will be “hungry for runs” when he plays on good pitches.
Azam’s form has been extremely turbulent as of late as he has not been able to score runs consistently.
Recently, he was involved in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he made 62 runs in three matches at an average of 20.66.
He fared better in the 2025 Champions Trophy, amassing 87 runs in two games, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.
Even though Azam has been going through a rough patch for quite some time, Finn is confident the Lahore native will shine when playing on good batting surfaces.
“You would imagine Babar Azam is hungry for runs on a pitch which is very good,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan will now embark on a tour of New Zealand, where they will play five T20Is and three ODIs from March 16 to April 5.
