Pakistan cricketer Azeem Ghumman said up-and-coming batsman Muhammad Hurraira is a “very good player”.
Hurraira has been a dominant force at the domestic level, especially in first-class cricket, where he averages 45.02 with the bat.
The 22-year-old recently made his Test debut in the two-match series against the West Indies in Multan.
However, he was unable to have much of an impact as he was limited to 46 runs at an average of 11.50.
Despite not doing that well in his first Test series, Ghumman is confident that the Sialkot native will be a star for Pakistan.
“The other one is Hurraira. He opened with me from Faisalabad. He’s a very good player because even now you’ve seen at what level Test cricket has reached [in] the world and how it’s happening,” he told PakPassion.
Hurraira was not picked in Pakistan’s squad for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where the men in green lost to the Black Caps in the final.
He also didn’t make the cut for the 2025 Champions Trophy, where Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.
Their final match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.
