Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has called Mohammad Ali “an exciting fast bowler” as he continues to generate plenty of hype.

Many initially saw Ali as a red-ball specialist, but the 32-year-old is starting to prove that he is more than capable of excelling in limited overs cricket as well.

So far, he has represented Pakistan in four Tests and taken six wickets at an average of 67.66.

Lately, though, he has been an unstoppable force in T20 cricket as he was the highest wicket-taker in the Champions T20 Cup with 22 wickets in nine matches for the Stallions at a jaw-dropping average of 9.72.

He then played two games for Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and claimed six wickets, which included a five-wicket haul, at an astounding average of 7.50.

“Mohammad Ali is an exciting fast bowler,” Hafeez was quoted as saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ali did not feature in Pakistan’s recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

He did make the cut for the two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan, but was not included in the playing XI for both matches.

Despite his excellent form, Ali was not picked in Pakistan’s team for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
