Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim singled out Pakistan batsman Umar Amin for praise after his stellar performance in a practice match in August 2024.

Amin and Mushfiqur played against each other when Pakistan A took on Bangladesh A in a four-day game in Islamabad.

In that match, the 35-year-old from Rawalpindi struck a superb 177, which came off 211 balls and included 23 boundaries and three sixes.

Amin has not played international cricket since January 2018, but Mushfiqur still appreciated his outstanding performance with the bat.

“Umar Amin’s batting was excellent,” the veteran Bangladesh batsman was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Amin was not selected for Pakistan’s recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Instead, he played in the Champions T20 Cup, where he mustered 45 runs in five matches for the Dolphins at an average of nine.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will be held in Karachi and Multan from January 16 to 28.
