Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman has confirmed that speedster Muhammad Musa Khan “is ready for international cricket now”.
Musa has featured in one Test, two ODIs and two T20Is, but his last match for Pakistan came in November 2020.
Since then, he has worked hard on earning a recall through strong domestic performances.
This season, he has done extraordinarily well and looks set to be selected once again in the near future.
During the Champions T20 Cup, the 24-year-old from Islamabad finished as the second-highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets in nine matches for the Lions at an average of 18.06.
Musa is also the highest wicket-taker in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with 38 wickets in five games for Islamabad Region, which includes five five-fors, at an eye-popping average of 9.81.
Considering the improvements Musa has made to his game since he last played international cricket, Zaman acknowledged that the pace bowler is ready for another shot.
“It looks like he is ready for international cricket now,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team were recently in Australia and won the ODI series 2-1 before being demolished 3-0 in the T20Is.
They then headed to Zimbabwe and claimed a 2-1 victory in both the ODI and T20I series.
The men in green just finished touring South Africa and began by losing the T20I series 2-0 before rebounding to win the ODIs 3-0.
As for the two-Test series, the Proteas triumphed 2-0.
