Former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur is very impressed with middle order batsman Saud Shakeel as he has consistently scored runs in the middle order.

Shakeel has become a vital part of Pakistan’s Test squad as he has brought much-needed stability to the middle order, which was once a major headache for the men in green.

Arthur was particularly amazed by the 29-year-old’s performance in the 1st Test against South Africa in Centurion, where he made 84 runs in the 2nd innings, which came off 113 balls and included 10 boundaries and a six.

“How good was Saud Shakeel?” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan ended up losing the 1st Test by two wickets and are now looking to bounce back in the 2nd Test in Cape Town, which got underway on January 3 in Cape Town.
