Pakistan fast bowler Aamer Jamal said pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi has “been so good with the new ball”.

Afridi is known for being a wicket-taker with the new ball as he often provides breakthroughs for the men in green in all three formats.

While the 24-year-old’s form has dipped in the last couple of months, Jamal still thinks he is absolutely outstanding.

“He’s been so good with the new ball,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

Afridi recently featured in the two-Test series against Bangladesh and only took two wickets in the one match he played.

Jamal, meanwhile, missed both games as he was recovering from a back injury.

Pakistan ended up losing the series 2-0 even though they played on home soil as both games were held in Rawalpindi.

Currently, Afridi is captaining the Lions in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament going on in Faisalabad.

In three games, he has taken seven wickets at an average of 29.42, while Jamal, who is also playing for the Lions, has claimed two wickets in one match at an average of 30.

The Pakistan team will be back in action next month as they will face England in a three-Test series from October 7 to 28.
