David Lloyd: “As an absolute artist, Pakistan’s Abdul Qadir was a beautiful bowler. All rhythm, all rhythmical action. And he was bowling when his wrist-spin was pretty much dead. So, he is third on my list after Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan”

Former England cricketer and renowned commentator David Lloyd named Pakistan legend Abdul Qadir as the third-best spinner of all time.
Explaining why he put Qadir at third, Lloyd pointed to his exceptional wrist-spin and the fact that he was “an absolute artist” when he had the ball in his hand.
The Lahore-born spinner, who sadly passed away in 2019, represented Pakistan in 67 Tests and took 236 wickets at an average of 32.80.
He also featured in 104 ODIs and claimed 132 wickets at an average of 26.16.
“As an absolute artist, Pakistan’s Abdul Qadir was a beautiful bowler. All rhythm, all rhythmical action. And he was bowling when his wrist-spin was pretty much dead. So, he is third on my list after Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan,” Lloyd was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket team are getting ready to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series after a disappointing campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they failed to make it out the group stage.
The Test series will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
