Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam has praised spinner Imad Wasim for stepping up and “bowling very well in difficult situations”.
Imad reversed his decision to retire from international cricket after the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and made his comeback in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, where he took one wicket in two games at an average of 37 and an economy rate of 7.40.
He then picked up two wickets in three T20Is against Ireland at an average of 36 and an economy rate of 7.20.
As for the four-match T20I series against England, Imad snapped up two wickets in one game at an average of 9.50 and an economy rate of 4.75.
“If we talk more about bowling, Imad Wasim is bowling very well in difficult situations,” Azam was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Imad recently played in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished with three wickets in three matches at an average of 14.66 and an economy rate of four.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Even though they won their last two group stage games, it was not enough to get them through to the Super Eights.
