Wasim Akram: “Iftikhar Ahmed knows one shot on the leg side. He has been a part of the team for years but doesn’t know how to bat”

Legendary Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Wasim Akram has blasted big-hitting batsman Iftikhar Ahmed, saying he “doesn’t know how to bat”.
Wasim noted that Iftikhar only has one shot in his arsenal, which is played on the leg side.
The Sultan of Swing added that the 33-year-old from Peshawar has been part of the Pakistan squad for years, but hasn’t worked on improving his batting.
“Iftikhar Ahmed knows one shot on the leg side. He has been a part of the team for years but doesn’t know how to bat,” he told Star Sports as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Iftikhar made 23 runs in two games at an average of 11.50 and a strike-rate of 100.
Pakistan lost their first two matches against the United States of America and India before rebounding to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Despite claiming back-to-back wins to end the group stage, the men in green failed to advance to the Super Eights.
