Former South Africa fast bowler Chris Morris believes Pakistan will reach the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup as “they are a big tournament team”.

The men in green made it to the last four in the 2021 T20 World Cup and the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup, where they ended up losing to England.

Considering how Babar Azam’s side are always a dark horse for any ICC event, Morris expects them to once again reach the semi-finals in the ongoing T20 World Cup as well.

“You can never count out Pakistan as they are a big tournament team,” he told Star Sports as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan recently drew 2-2 with New Zealand in a five-match T20I series before touring Ireland and going on to beat them 2-1 in a three-match T20I series.

They then travelled to England and played a four-match T20I series, which they ended up losing 2-0.

With the 2024 T20 World Cup already underway,  the men in green will be looking to kickstart their campaign on a high when they face the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
