Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman has insisted that he is happy to bat as low as number six or seven in order to represent his country in T20Is.

Zaman recently batted at number four in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, even though he generally opens the batting.

Despite finding himself at a new position, the 33-year-old isn’t complaining as he simply wants to keep playing for Pakistan and leading the team to victory.

“I will be happy to play at number six or seven even,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

In the series against New Zealand, which the men in green lost 4-1, Zaman amassed 126 runs, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 25.20 and a strike-rate of 165.78.

His next assignment will be the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he will play for the Lahore Qalandars.

PSL 9 will take place from February 17 to March 18 in four cities – Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

Lahore Qalandars Squad for PSL 9: Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Haris Rauf, David Wiese, Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafique, Zaman Khan, Mirza Tahir Baig, Rashid Khan (reserved), Fakhar Zaman, Rassie van der Dussen, Sahibzada Farhan, Muhammad Imran Jnr., Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, Dan Lawrence (partially available), Jahandad Khan, Syed Faridoun Mahmood, Shai Hope, Kamran Ghulam,  Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Tayyab Abbas
